Tim Daniels

Tim Daniels

Senior Minister

Tim Daniels is in his twentieth year of service as senior minister of Trinity Gardens. His ability to reach people through soul-piercing sermons and to counsel individuals to recovery comes from the tutelage of his father, the late M.C. Daniels, Christian education, and his daily walk with the Lord.

Tim believes that the diversity of people within our church blending harmoniously toward a common goal of serving the Lord makes Trinity Gardens unique. The church has come together to set aside tradition and focus on helping others by meeting people at their source of need. “Because every person and gift are respected, our diversity has become a great source of strength, not division”.

Julius Clebourn

Julius Clebourn

Elder

"Don't let a difference, be a difference!"  These words are Elder Julius Clebourn’s daily inspiration, shared by a mentor, the late Brother Johnny Wooten of the Scenic Woods Church of Christ.

Julius joined Trinity Gardens in June 2008, bringing a resume that includes hard work and dedication to service within the Lord’s church. He was baptized in March 1987 and shortly after began working with the youth ministry at Scenic Woods Church of Christ. In 1991, he transferred his membership to Shady Acres Church of Christ and had an active role in the congregation’s youth, benevolence visitation, and finance ministries. From 2001-2006 he was member of the Garden Oaks Church of Christ where he was a member of the benevolence, men's, and new converts ministries; and, he eventually became a deacon. During his time with us at Trinity Gardens, he has served in the First Principles and Care group ministries; was ordained as a deacon and is now an elder.

When asked what makes Trinity Gardens special, Elder Clebourn remarked, “The Church’s willingness to be different (non-traditional). We are a diverse body of people that celebrates a rich heritage. We are committed to building a living and viable church for the next generation's success, all while remaining true to God's written purpose for a body of Believers”.

Julius has been a loyal employee of NRG Energy (formerly HL&P) for 30 years. He is married to Jennifer; has three children, Jameka, JaKeisha, and Julius Clebourn III; and five grandchildren. His favorite scripture is Romans 12:1-3 and his favorite song is "How Great Is Our God “. He loves our church and is proud to be one of your elders.

Valerie Gardner-Smith

Valerie Gardner-Smith

Administrative Assistant

Valerie is a survivor and living testimony to overcoming life’s circumstances! She is a dedicated member of our church’s community and also serves as one of our administrative assistants.

Valerie appreciates the family-style atmosphere at Trinity Gardens. “Although we are considered to be some what of a mega church, we are close-knit, and our Pastor enjoys interacting with the members.” Valerie also values that our church accepts everyone as they are; being themselves, without judgment.

Valerie draws daily inspiration from Jesus and the fact that he died so that we could live. It is the motivation for her motto: “Live to Live”; and, with a positive spirit, she has been able to turn some of life’s devastating defeats into triumphs. She is a colon cancer survivor; has earned a masters degree after being declared legally blind; and, because of these incredible achievements, created a non-profit organization, Crusaders for Colon Cancer, Inc.

Founding a non-profit and becoming a living example of claiming victory has given Valerie the platform to share her survival story during many speaking engagements, including the following events:

  • 15th Anniversary Luncheon Celebration - Compassionate Touch/Lifeline Chaplaincy
  • Women's Equality Day Program - U. S. Army Corps of Engineers
  • Featured Guest on Majic 102.1's Sunday Morning Live Program & KPFT 90.1 Radio Talk Show
  • National Cancer Survivors Day - Kelsey-Seybold
  • The 86th Sovereign Grand Assembly - Lilies of the Valley, Chapter 210
  • Women's Christian Conference - West Point Missionary Baptist Church
  • Breast Cancer Awareness Month Presenter – Mount Olive Baptist Church

Valerie enjoys spending time with her family. She has been married to the love of her life, Winslor, for 24 years and they enjoy the company of their grandkids. Valerie is also an avid skydiver and has a tendency to tell corny jokes (although she often wonders why she is the only one laughing)!
